Basic Healthy Muffin Recipe
Muffins, the Healthy Recipe
Muffin – yummy! These are a good way to get a quick start on your morning without having to spend too much time in the kitchen. This recipe allows you to make healthy additions to each batch. Try changing out the different grains and adding fresh, dried or frozen fruit to the recipe. They stay fresh in the refrigerator or freezer, and are a good pick me up with a glass of iced tea while doing your spring garden cleaning.
– 1 C. Buttermilk
– 1 C. Oatmeal or other grain
– 1/2 C. Brown Sugar
– 1/2 C. Oil
– 1 C. Flour (can use whole wheat)
– 1 t. Baking Powder
– 1/2 t. Baking Soda
– Raisins, shredded apple and or nuts to taste
Mix all ingredients and bake at 400° for approximately 20 minutes.
